Default Sticky Toffee Pudding

Sticky Toffee Pudding
Favourite Pudding Recipes
recipe book purchased Urquhart Castle gift shop Scotland 6/2008
6 oz dates (chopped)
1 c boiling water
1 tsp baking soda

2 oz butter
¾ c sugar

1 egg
1 c flour
1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp vanilla


Sauce
3/8 c brown sugar
2 oz butter
2 Tbsp double or single cream

Use a 8x8 pan
Preheat oven to 350.
  1. Pour boiling water over the dates and baking soda. Leave to stand.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together in a bowl until pale in color.
  3. Gradually stir in the egg, flour and baking powder.
  4. Stir in the dates with the liquid. Add vanilla.
  5. Put the mixture into a greased 8x8 pan.
  6. Bake for approximately 40 minutes until risen and firm to the touch.
  7. Make the sauce by boiling the ingredients together for 2 minutes.
  8. Pour over the warm pudding/cake.

Serves 4 to 6
